This AlloStim™ study is a Phase I/II clinical study. Phase I studies are the first studies in which an experimental drug is tested in humans. Phase I studies are usually conducted in a small number of volunteers (20-80) to determine if the investigational drug has any side effects or presents any safety concerns. Phase II studies are designed to determine how well an investigational drug works (efficacy). Phase I/II studies have safety as the primary reason for the study, but also assess how well the investigational works in controlling disease.
